Know your Cell Phone

Emergency Number

The Emergency Number worldwide for mobile phones is 112.

If you find yourself out of the coverage area of your mobile network and there is an emergency dial 112 and the mobile will search for any existing network to establish the emergency connection for you. Interestingly this number 112 can be dialled even while the keypad is locked and even if you don’t have credit on your service.

Keys Locked in the Car?

This may come in handy someday and is a good reason to own a mobile phone.

If you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys are at home, call home on your mobile phone. Hold your mobile phone about a foot from your car door and have the other person at home press the ‘Unlock’ button on the key remote whilst holding it near the phone on their end. Your car should unlock.

Saves time and trouble and, of course, distance is not a problem. You could be hundreds of miles away and if you can reach someone who has the other remote for your car, you can unlock the doors (or the boot).

Low Battery on a Nokia Phone?!

Your mobile battery is very low and you are expecting an important call and don't have a charger. Nokia instruments come with a reserve battery.

To activate the battery key in *3370# and your mobile will restart with this reserve and your instrument will show a 50% increase in battery charge. This reserve will get charged when you charge your mobile the next time.
