Details of a land claim in the Magoebaskloof area of Limpopo have been published in the Government Gazette. Farms belonging to some prominent persons do not, however, appear on the list although all the farms surrounding them have been claimed. The farms belong to Reserve Bank president Tito Mbolweni, former Limpopo premier Ngoako Ramathlodi and bishop Egenas Lekganyane. The claim has been instituted by the Makgoba tribe and is one of the biggest made in the country.
Dr Mamphela Ramphele, former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Capetown, and currently a senior official in the World Bank, and Professor Malegapuru (William) Makgoba, Vice-Chancellor of the University of KwaZulu-Natal are reported to be among the claimants.
